any whole number has a denominator of 1.
So if you have 3/5 x 2
you can write it as 3/5x 2/1
so the answer is 6/5

when you have whole number you make it fraction (ex 2 would be 2/1 and then you multiply the numbers, top and bottom and simplify ( ex: 12 x 4/7= 12/1 x 4/7= 48 /7 then simplify 6 6/7 will be the answer. if need more help go to math.com

Here's and example:

2 x 1/2

This is the same as 2 over 1 times 1/2, which equals 2 over 2 or 1.

Think of it this way you are multiplying 5 and 1/2 ok write it like this always pt whole #'s over one _5_ * _1_
1 2
and multiply straight across.... 5*1=5 and 1*2=2 so its 5/2

you just make the whole number ito a fraction (3=3/1) then you multiply the top numbers and the bottom numbers. then simplify if possible.

to multiply fractions you multiply tops with tops and bottoms with bottoms... if you have whole numbers convert them back into the fraction and multiply
