My fiance and I have been trying for almost a year now. And both of us really want a little one, we've tried pills, and we've even prayed. Is there anything else?

Trena, to get pregnant you must have sex on a day that your eggs are being released.

After the 3rd day from the day that menses started put a thermometer into your mouth and check your body temperature every morning before you start turning in bed. The best time is at about 4 a.m. Maintain a chart. You will find that on one day the body temperature drops from 1/2 degree to one degree. This is the day that your eggs are being released. If you want to get pregnant this is the day that you must have sex. Tell your fiance to ejaculate on his inward thrust so that the sperms will shoot deep inside.

After having sex you must stay in bed for about 30 mins with your knees bent up with a pillow under your buttocks so that the sperms will not pour out - to enable them to travel up.

Get your fiance to save his sperms in the testacles for at least 3 days before sex to enable them to mature well to do their job.

If you have been trying for a year, you should make an appointment with a Fertility Specialist to determine the reason behind your Infertility. He/She will run a number of tests on you and your partner. It could be something quite simple that requires little money and time. However it could be something more serious. Make your appointment now because it usually takes three months to get into see a doctor.

Some things to try before your visit to the Specialist:

1) Try taking your Basal Body Tempature on a daily basis or taking ovulating tests. Both of these items will help you determine the days that you ovulate and therefore the days you should have intercourse.

2) Only have sex every other day. Your partner's sperm needs time to regenerate and it takes 24 hours to do so.

3) Have your partner wear boxer shorts, stay out of hot tubs and saunas and keep away from alcoholic beverages.

Good Luck!!!

Honestly, take a break from trying to conceive and take a relaxing vacation. Stress can affect fertility so sometimes the best thing you can do is stop trying for a few weeks, relax, have some fun, and focus on the fun times and love you can share with your partner. Sometimes people actually conceive on vacation because they are so relaxed and happy, but don't make that the focus of your trip. Make fun and one-on-one time the focus. Put trying to conceive out of your head until the vacation is over, then start over, fresh, rested, happy and relaxed. Good Luck.

P.S.- And I just read in an article that if you are having frequent sex, your husband isn't producing as much sperm per ejaculation, so it's good to not be doing it everyday. Hope I've helped.

It took us over 3 years to conceive.........naturally (no fertilily drugs). After 2 1/2 years of trying I had to change the way I was thinking. Having a baby was all that was on my mind. And it's true if you stop thinking about it, it will happen. I literally had to convince myself that if I never was able to have kids....it was OK. And after about 6 months of reverse psychology on myself. It worked. This may sound strange, but just read on. I could not get an orgasm w/ my hubby. So the night I got pregnant I tried this. After we did the nasty (I am trying to keep this email clean) I pleasured myself to get an orgasm. As getting an orgasm releases liquids that kill the acidity in you. And this helps the little swimmers to live. Try anything and I know it's cliche and hard to believe, but try not to think about it.

Go have both yourselves tested...him for sperm count...you to make sure that you are ovulating (just because you have a period every month does not mean that you ovulated) if that comes back ok..go for a HSG (hysterosalpinogram) and check for blockages in your fallopian tubes...IF something isn't working...go on clomid to start ovulation...chart your cycle and find out the most oppurtune time to conceive.

omg I would help you if I could. I am having the same problem and I have been trying for about 2 years. I have been told everything from try every morning and night and to not try for a week then try. I want to be artificially insiminated but that cost about 5000 each try and that's not guaranteeing that you will concieve. I think I will try it though!

Have lots and lots of sex, three times a day! That's what me and my fiance did.

Start charting you AF with:
www.yourdays.com

and have sex everyother day.

Use the "head down @ss" up technique. After he ejeculates, stay in that position for a few minutes.

Trust me...it works!

I would go to a fertility doctor. They would probably run tests on both of you to find out what is going on. Good luck!
