Lifting to increase the strength in your legs. Working on your sprinting form in order to decrease any wasted motion. Focusing on interval training, don't just run long distances, run sprints of various lengths with short breaks in between them. Do your sprints with resistance, a small parachute or some one holding onto a bungee cord behind you. also try running up and down stairs or hills in order to build strength and stamina at the same time.

Run downhill, but don't run with scissors in your hands. That will make the people in front of you run faster!
