HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) is what causes them and almost everyone has this virus, its just some don't know they do.
You might think this sounds stupid but to remove warts take a bandaid and a small cotton ball. Put some apple cider vinegar on the cotton ball and secure onto the wart with the band aid. It will be gone in about a week. Just keep reapplying a new one each day. I have done this before and it works, amazingly!

Warts are caused by a virus and will sometimes just simply go away on their own. Dr. Scholls makes the wart remover that freezes the wart. It works if you use it as directed. I had a wart that I had a dermatologist treat and it wouldn't go away and the Dr. Scholls product worked. Good luck. Warts are no fun.

Warts are a type of infection caused by viruses in the human papillomavirus (HPV) family.
You can treat warts on places such as the hands, feet or knees by putting salicylic acid (one brand name: Compound W) on the warts. To get good results, you must apply the acid every day for many weeks. After you take a bath or shower, pat your skin dry lightly with a towel. Then put salicylic acid on your warts. The acid sinks in deeper and works better when it is applied to damp skin. Before you take a shower or a bath the next day, use an emery board or pumice stone to file away the dead surface of the warts.

Ok, bunch of retarded answers, Did you ask about HPV? Um, no, I don't think you did, Warts are caused by a virus, it can be spread just by contact (touching, kissing, etc.) Just get an over the counter wart medication, it really works. I had one on my toe, and in about 3 weeks, it poped right off.

You should really see a doctor. Warts are of all different kinds.
There are types you get on your skin and than there are sexually transmitted ones and can be treated but will forever be in your system.
