MacBeth well Shakespeare's MacBeth commited a murder at the behest of his own wife who went insane with guilt and all that led to another murder to cover the original murder and that caused an open rebellion. Some people confuse fate with cause and effect.

I feel like the Merovingian.

Good thing the real King MacBeth was very different. He won his title by killing the previous king in battle and had a benevolent reign. On a trip to Rome it is said he threw gold to the poor as if it were seed for the chickens. Historical documents record him as a benevolent king. However this being Scotland in the middle ages reigns don't last and end violently so eventually King MacBeth was wounded in battle by Malcolm MacDonnchada and died from the wound in 1057. MacBeth's stepson Lulach became King.
