Most good L&G Centers have traps called Hav*a*hart traps. They're made of metal and last for decades and you can catch Mickey, or whatever you named it, without hurting anything. Then you can go set it free.
All the baits I have ever seen are some form of poison so you want to stay away from them.
If you do decide you want to kill it stay away from the glue traps--they're very inhumane--getting stuck to a piece of cardboard until it dies of thirst. It's better to use the regular Victor trap and kill it instantly.

I got some humane traps called Mice cubes at Walmart. They really worked well with cough drops as bait! That worked better than even peanut butter. Make sure to check them often--the mice can dehydrate quickly in there. That really defeats the purpose of a humane trap. You also want to be able to release the mice a long way from your home. I think the ones I caught actually beat me back to the house.

You can get mouse traps from the supermarket that will trap the mouse without hurting it, and use peanut butter as bait, do not use cheese, cheese actually overheats the mice's blood and they end up dying from it.

Do you ever watch cartoons lol. close off the room so your cats can't get in then use the ol bait in a container trick. i recognize this sounds extraordinary yet do not makes use of cheese, ironicaly its undesirable for them, attempt some buscuits, no longer some thing to fatty. Formulate a seize with a container or container Into some thing you could right now close the mouse in with, case in factor prop the container up with some thing atatched to a pair string or possibly you could make some style of one way pit for it to fall into. Stick the bait in watch and now its a waiting sport. at the same time as it reaches the bait and begins ingesting turn on the seize. Viola, good success.

you can get them at any home improvement store in the same aisle as other traps, they look like black boxes. You can find them at Orchard Supply, Home Depot, I bet they even have them at Walmart.
