I have this problem all the time. Just write the person you are trying to pay an email and ask them to verify the email address you are sending payment. At least that way they know you are trying to pay.

with a bit of luck you have not clicked on a hyperlink from an digital mail that instructed you to pay for the products you have gained, as this would be a hyperlink to a pretend web page created to reap paypal/ebay account info! touch paypal yet attempt logging into paypal immediately.
