South America has Incas, what does Canada have by way of the brown people?

Canadians. We call them Native. In the north they are called Inuit. Inuit is the PC name of Eskimos.

There are various groups in Canada, from Inuit to Eskimos and Aleuts, and a few others. I have heard them called "First Nations." I know that (some) Canadian businesses actually have First Nations branches to serve those communites better, and the Canadian province of Nunavut was created in the Northeastern part of the country.
And, by the way, I was just reading a quote by an Alaska Native that there are no Eskimos in Alaska, a common misconception, and if you call them Eskimos you will be cordially shown the door.

When the "new world" was first landed upon by the white folk, they had been shooting for India & assumed that they WERE in India, and so they called the people they met...Indians. And guess what? It stuck, and sadly, most people don't seem to know that calling Native Americans "Indians" is about as correct as calling Chinese people Koreans. It's annoying, yes. But I don't think that most people intent to be disrespectful. If they wanted to do that, there are much worse "titles" that they could bestow upon your people. Probably best to just gently correct them, perhaps with a polite "Oh I'm not from India - I'm actually Native American" and a smile.

I believe they also call their native brown people indians- all though the more politically correct term is now indginous people or tribes.
