he's 17, the legal age to enlist, and soon he will be 18 and the reasons why he wants to join is because im in the army and my cousin ships out by the end of next summer. he will be able to finish basic and A.I.T. and ready to ship along with my cousin. And i guess his third reason is so he can get the college money.

respond to him by telling him exactly how you feel about it. Personally if it was my brother i would be very proud of him but sad at the same time there are alot of bad things going on right now with the war but it would probably be good for him.....be proud he wants to serve our country and do some good with his life!!! Tell him the truth be honest with him he will love you for it...

How do you feel? How you respond needs to be honest or he wil know your not. Do you feel his is military material? Some people arent cut out for that and may get ona wrong road , but it may be a blessing for him and help his life. So learn what you can about it and have him learn too. The best way to decide on how to react, is know what he wants and what hes getting into. Good Luck!
