How you present it is up to you. It can be in a box, on a chain, hidden in or on something. You can be serious or whimsical, just reflect a side of your personality.
Promise rings can be any type of ring. You can give a ring you own like a class ring or buy her a ring with a gem stone. My favorite rings are his and hers. which are band rings. They may be exactly alike or slightly different. Poesy rings are a form of promise rings that date back centuries and are engrave with words of love and endearment. See the two links below. I think they will do the job of letting her know you are serious. Price will vary depending on if it is custom made , and what the band is made of, keep in mind a gemstone like a ruby, garnet, emerald, aquamarine or sapphire will ad to the price but all are symbolize things like love, trust, faith, and fidelity and there is always a diamond, which should probably be played down or else it will be seen as an engagement ring in many eyes. Promise ring is often worn on the opposite hand than a marriage ring.

The promise ring I got my ex girlfriend.....(Which I still am keeping all those promises I made to her even out of the relationship...........even when I shouldn't)...........but it wasn't a pair, it was just for her. Typically out of all the rings I looked at, they all had some sort of "knot-like" appearance in the middle where the small stone was, I guess to signify a type of bond or tightness of a relationship. The one I settled on ran about 60 dollars but I'm sure there are some slightly cheaper ones and of course, more expensive ones. Metal was gold.......but I think silver and whitegold are much more attractive in any rings. Gold is ugly as hell lol.
