I'm 15 and for about a year I've wanted to get my tounge pierced but my parents don't want me to. I think I can convince my mom but I want to know if you people think I should. My mom thinks I'll regret it latter but I really want it.

Okay first of all I know I spelled Tongue wrong. Also about the "slutty" look I honestly don't care if I look slutty.

a tongue piercing is the worst piercing to get. It ruins your teeth and holds a lot of bacteria in your mouth causing infections. I know several people who got them and then took them out because of dental problems and other issues. if you do decide to get one be careful not to rub your piercing around your teeth and keep it clean rinse with a bacterial rinse agent several times a day.

NO ur parents know what they are talking about. Trust them.. Why do u think God gave us parents.. other species raise themselves and dont need parents for a thing... We need to trust our parents.... Its hard cuz ur old enough that u know alot.. but ur parents as old as they are know so much more and can see into the possible hard times u will have.
If u get a tongue piercing .... u will limit ur potential jobs.. get a reputation from the guys... have to go through the pain... have to be careful not to chip ur tooth( i know 4 girls with chipped bottom front teeth from their tongue ring)
Tongue piercings are just a fad.... but if u end up getting one just know that at any time u can take it out and forget about it... not like other things like tatttoos... which are permanent.. the tongue ring would just be wasted money when u took it out.

My niece did it and she hated it. She wanted to do it so bad because she thought it was cool, then she ended up talking really funny and getting an infection in her mouth that hurt REALLY BAD. Plus, once she took it out there was a hole in her tongue that would not go away. It looks so gross. Women get tongue piercings because it's supposed to make giving oral sex to a guy much better. Do you really want to be viewed as that slutty?

Ethryl: Now I don't want you to take this the wrong way. I think that you are an impulsive young lady who knows her own mind and does not take advice very easy. Your mother is quite right and you will regret it later. I guarantee it. You will get a name for yourself which will not be complimentary one little bit. You may get an infection which will haunt you for the rest of your life. Please wait another year or so and if you do not change your mind by then, have it done..................

its a hole not a tattoo, it wont last forever. when you get older and get sick of it take it out and WAA-LAA your done with it. I have had mine pierced for 6 years now and i love it.
Wow everybody is saying it looks trashy, well for one you can only see it if your looking right into my mouth and two, its an expression of yourself not a sexual toy. Common misconception.
Infections are rare just follow the instructions given by the piercer, and you only talk funny for about a week or two.

No! Don't do it. Your parents sounds like mine, they say the same things to my bro who wants a tattoo. But i think they're right, in like 5 years ur gonna wish u hadn't done it i think. It looks dumb too, especially becuz it gets infected and purple and stuff. unless ur like some punk rocker freak, dont do it. thats just me but it looks trashy. And.. have u ever seen Rat Race? eewww. Hope this helps.

I HAVE MY TONGUE PIERCED AND THE ACTUAL PIERCING DID NOT HURT, BUT AFTERWARDS WHEN YOUR TONGUE GETS SWOLLEN ITS AGGRAVATING. I MEAN IT WONT HURT IF YOU GET IT DONE AND IF YOU DONT LIKE IT AND YOU REGRET IT YOU CAN ALWAYS TAKE THE EARRING OFF THE HOLE WILL CLOSE. THE ONLY THING IS YOU WONT GET YOUR MONEY BACK.
