When I saw the news about that my jaw literally dropped. That's probably one of the worst things I've ever heard - taking hostages in an Amish schoolhouse, tying up preteen girls and then shooting them in the head execution style? There is no way this man was sane.

What the f*ck is wrong with people?

Um, actually cadaholic I live in Seattle where that Muslim man shot up the Jewish center. It was very big news here and the women attacked were well known in the community. I even recognized a couple of their names.

this guy was super ****** up in the head...Amish people??? they don't harm anyone, not even the environment, they are probably some of the people that have the highest standard of value, meaning, to value life and nature, and NOT all of the materialistic things that run our society...it is soo sad to hear that the violence of our lives have to touch people that rarely venture into our world...it shows us that nowhere in our country is safe.... my thoughts and love are with those that lost a family member, or had a family member hurt yesterday...bless those young souls...

It makes me wish I believed in hell. Especially since he "dreamed" of molesting again. I hope someone gives his poor kids some serious counselling - no matter what the reports say, he can't have been that much of a "loving father and husband" to do something so heinous. It's just unfortunate that he took the easy way out and shot himself before the police got hold of him. I've heard child molesters are not exactly favoured in prison. It's pretty scary that some people who answered this have the attitude of "It's not that bad, **** like this happens all the time." THATS what's wrong with people.

I was really in shock when I heard the ages of the girls were 6-13 years old. I have two children and I'm scared to death to let them out of my sight. People are crazy now days! I mean when I was little stuff like this never happened. I have a 6 year old boy and a 3 1/2 year old girl, its scarey to think how much worse it can get when they are older! I'm really afraid for them!!!
You never can trust anyone these days.

he was obviously very disturbed. it's just terrible that these type of people go into schools knowing they will get hostages that are incapable of defending themselves since they are children, they have the element of surprise, there are no weapons for self defense and that it will greatly hurt people emotionally by attacking the children. - it's especially bad for the Amish since they are peaceful by nature and aren't even involved in most going ons in regular society.

It's messed up...I mean, who would hurt the Amish????? They don't do anything to anyone. Of all the people I would ever be angry at...the Amish are near the bottom of the list.

not the worst...by far (as far as number of casualities)..HOWEVER...very, very disturbing. I mean we are talking about Amish people here..the most kind and gentle people. Absolutely disturbing. I believe I heard he had a "fascination" with molesting young girls. disgusting

I think that is so sad! Those poor little girls, they must have been so scared. I have been thinking about them and their families all day and I feel so bad for them. And the fact that it happened to such non-violent, peaceful people makes it seem even worse somehow.

i know i felt the same way, i was devastated. I don't even think Amish people are allowed to have guns so they couldn't even protect themselves. There are so many school shootings happening its scary.
