Get a bowl, put Pine Straw or Hay in it, then a softball, turn it over, remove the bowl, spray shelac ,aerosol glue, or somesuch on it, presto kaching! one birds nest.

If you do decide to get one out of the hedge (and there are always lots available), be sure that you kill all mites by spraying with enough bug killer to saturate it, before bringing it into the house.

One of my kids did this for show and tell once, and the mites were like a wave of black on my coffee table.

Why make one go out and but one at a local hobby or craft store, No one will ever know, If you have to add a couple of your touches.

Do the same thing birds do. Search your yard for straw, string, paper, twigs, etc.

lol to the person who wrote "get one out of the hedge"...heehee

i'd suggest straw, hay, twigs, branches, grass, glue.... i think u have to build build build on top of each other, kind of "cross hatching" the twigs and stuff. good luck!
