... an older man and a younger woman couple. My uncle is nearly 60 and his wife is 45 and they are freakin happy! My friends brother 32 and his wife 32 fight like cats and dogs! My cousin who's 55 and her husband who's 50 fight like little children. Why is it the older man and younger woman works out well, but the other two don't?

I think it's the maturity thing. Guys mature slower than girls, guys cant accept that, they think they are more matured...i have an uncle who's 43, married to a 43 y/o woman...they fight like crazy and always argue about something....me, i have a 40 y/o bf...and he is so patient, when i'm with him i always feel like i'm sitting in the beach with ocean water...so warm and calm... we seldom argue about anything...maybe because i believe in him too much that i agree to everything he says...and when i tell him something, he seemed very interested and doesn't take my opinions as lame or less intelligent than his. And he seemed to be patient ....with our nine years difference....he's so protective of me. and not controlling in any way....

I don't think it is necessarily true. My ex-spouse was 16 years older, and my current one is roughly my age. My parents and my grandparents stayed married, and they were close in age. I think, it depends more on the maturity level and the committment of the people involved than on an actual age difference.

I don't know to be honest but lets make it an experiment and find out. Curious to know the outcome.
