I totally agree......
Show people how to find their own answers.....lead them to reliable webpages (not Wikipedia where any idiot can write an article) and let them read it for themselves.
Go step by step through a math or science problem so they can do the rest of their homework by themselves.
Teach them how to do it - don't just do it for them!
They can't sit in front of Yahoo! Answers when they have to take their test.....

I feel it's kinda cheating. When I do GCSE I would not wish to feel that I were running difficult and different individuals simply getting the solutions of yahoo... I feel reliablilty is on the askers hazard. The answerers will do their first-rate however the asker will have to be conscious every body makes errors. I feel if you're answering the query, you will have to give an explanation for how you return to the reply so the asker can get the it correct in long term.

Free, why do you come into this category? All you seem to want to do is enforce your rules onto the rest of us. I agree with you to a point, giving them the answers isn't helpful and I try not to do that. In fact certain questions I bypass totally for that reason.
Why can't you do the same? All of your answers in this category are rude and sometimes downright aggressive. You get your 2 points, all they get is a bucketload of abuse which i think is uncalled for.
Don't answer the questions. Don't read them if they upset you as much as they seem to. There are so many other categories you might enjoy a lot more. Just allow those of us who get a buzz out of lending a hand to the kids, do that. They don't all ask for their homework to be completed, many of them just need pointing in the right direction, or to have something explained with more clarity. A lot of them are grateful and leave really sweet messages. How can it be wrong to want to help?
I really don't like being yelled at on here or having someone else constantly trying to police this category with bitter and sarcastic comments. It could be perceived as point gaming if we looked closely enough. You get the two points each time you answer even though none of the answers are designed to help

To all the people trying to get their homework done by others: Do you really want to learn how or are you just looking for an easy way out?

Because everyone gets into binds sometimes like me... I had a question on a take home exam that is not covered in my book and the teacher never talked about how to solve it. He thinks it is previous knowledge which I do not possess.
Besides helping someone with one question or getting them started is not doing all the work for them.
This is a resource for information.

I would suspect that the asker is really wanting someone to give them the answer not explain it to them, but I agree with you. Plus, they shouldn't be just accepting the answers that someone whom they don't even know gives them.

I just did. I pointed a girl in the direction of the author of the poem she was searching for but not the poem itself.

You do it your way, and I'll do it mine. If I sense that a person doesn't want to work, I won't generally give an answer. However, if I get the feeling from the question that they've tried and are still confused, then I'll help however I can. If YOU don't want to help, you don't have to.
