10? definitely not. i think she doesn't need to start wearing that just because she sees her sister wearing it. if she wears any at all it should just be the basics like a little lip gloss at that age. she does not need to start wearing all that stuff until she is at least when she's 12 almost 13. that's a good age because you're starting a new school (if it's public school) and you get to impress new people so yeah 12 or 13. hope it helps your friend's sister... =]

I think a girl should be late teens before wearing all of the face paint. My mom allowed something new every year. Lipstick/gloss at 12, eyeliner 13, mascara 14, powder 15, blush, 16, and eye shadow and foundation at 17.

I htink that a 10 yr old can wear that much makeup only for dress up! I am 12 and I still don't feel old enough to wear all that! I think a 10 yr old should stick with a little powder, light sparkly eye stuff and lip gloss! I think 13-15 yrs old is the right age to start!

Your friend's 10 year old sister clearly needs a good role model and maybe you should step in. 10 years old is way too young no matter the urge. Personally I think at age 15 to 16 a young lady can wear a little blush and lip gloss and gradually start adding a little more depending on the occasion.
"TOO SOON SMART, SOON TOO OLD." It means that one shouldn't grow up too fast. You'll get old soon enough, believe me.
I hope that this little girl has adults in her life who set boundaries or heaven help her.

Back in the day I was 16. Nowadays, 15 or older. If the 10 yr old wants to wear make-up get her some light color lip gloss. Nice flavored balms, cute polish and that's all. Too many young girls now want to look older and when guys think they are 18 and put them in adult situations they do not how to react and get them selves out of it. None of that other stuff unless its for Halloween or strictly dress up. Good luck with the situation.

12 for small amounts of eyeliner and shadow, but if she has rough or blotchy skin, then I say 13 or 14 for the other stuff. If her skin is nice and smooth, then like 15 or 16.

My mom was giving me her old makeup at 10, but I barely wore enough for anyone to notice. It all depends on how much makeup is being applied. A little bit of nuetral stuff is okay until around 13 or 14.
