I was in Austria last week and the prices (unleaded petrol) were approximately €1 per litre.
In the UK where I am now it is just under £1 per litre.

Each country has different prices... The UK being the highest (of the countries I know) followed by France and Italy and Spain afterward.
In Spain right now 95 octane is running between 0.88 and 0.95 euros per litre (which is about a quarter of a gallon)

Not sure but the last time my husband and I drove around France, we discovered that the diesel actually cost less than regular gasoline. We lucked out, b/c we rented a car than ran only on diesel.
