It depends on what hormone the pregnancy test is checking for. Some of the hormones are found normally in low levels anyways. This is what can give the false positive results.

Most likely what the doctor is saying is that the hormone levels are not high enough to definitively say that your pageant.

We think of it as a yes or no sort of question. But because the hormones are a side effect and hormones are not directly linked to if you are or are not pageant there is a larger grey area.

It could also mean that you simply in an early stage of pregnancy.

To be sure they will most likely have you do an ultrasound to see if they can see a fetus.

That means that you are pregnant but not very far along. By saying "barely" he/she means that you amy be anywhere between 2-6 weeks along. Also the darkness of the pregnancy test means nothing. If it shows positive, reguardless of how faint, it means positive. The next thing to do is get to an OB/GYN and start receiving prenatal care if you are planning on keeping the baby.

Theres no such thing as barely pregnant, you either are or are not! What it could be that as its such early days since your missed period the hormone levels (HCG or Human Chorionic Gonadatrophin to give it its full name) have not had time to build up and show on the test. Leave it another week and repeat the test, if its showing a faint positive now I would say you probably are pregnant. False positives are virtually unknown in healthy women!

There is probably low levels of the pregnancy hormone at this time. After more time if you are indeed pregnant the hormone level will increase and a later home test should show darker results. Not to alarm you, but my sister in law had low levels and after enough time had passed the dr. determined that there was not enough harmone there for it to be a viable pregnancy. It was eptopic. Just check in another couple of days and see if the color on the stick is darker. Also, see your dr. again if you still have concerns.

Incorrect. You can not be barely pregnant! Either you are or youre not! He may just have meant that the HCG level of hormone in your blood was low, indicating early stages of pregnancy poss 4 wks along. STILL PREGNANT.

You're barely WHAT? Pregnant... that means those two little cells have just merged to form a bustual which is a little cluster of cells moving down the felopian tube multiplying and growing into the zygote which will cling to your uterus and grow to a fetus... In a nutshell... YEP ur Prego alright.. but just barely : )

it means it is a very very early pregnancy and at this point the doctor cannot say whether it is normal or not. you do have a positive test but doctors wont tell you it is a normal pregnancy until. they can actually see the embryo on ultrasound which is about 5 wk or so

it's too early to say, that's why. we need more time to see if you really are pregnant or not. sometimes hormones can affect the results of the pregnancy tests. give it more time. either way, if you are pregnant, there is really nothing you can do to prevent it from happening if it already happened. i suggest you wait for a couple of weeks more.

it takes at least 10 days to catch in the blood, beacuse a blood pregnancy catches hormones in the blood that are released when u are pregnant so in the mean time just stay calm. and wait 2 hope for the best .

"Barely" means you are but your hormone levels are low becuase your still so early on. Get yourself some prenatal vitamins, put out the cugarette and load up on Folic acid as it prevents neural tube defects which occurs in the first few weeks.
