Funnily enough my husband was asking me that the other day when I was cutting his hair. He has also started sprouting out of his nose... I told him that it must be nature compensating for hair loss on top of his head, which when he was younger grew down over his ears and could be flicked around, therefore keeping bugs etc out of his ears and nose... but now he's older... and going bald... nature needs to prevent nasties from taking up residence in the huge space between his ears!!!!!!
