To block them from YOUR computer, use a password thy don't know.

I don't know much about monitoring. But you can set up the kind of content they can see on any computers at home.. Click start> settings> control panel> double click Internet options> content. Follow directions on the screen. Keep Access to content protected by a password only you know.

Frankly, there is absolutely no way you can either keep them off the net or restrict their access to undesirable content. They can log onto computers for free at a lot of different sources, starting at the local library, which are not set up to filter content. Your only hope, really is to educate them and warn them about the dangers, and pray the listen.

Good luck. If it is any help, my kids grew up well, in spite of their rebellion at my attempts at trying to grow them up well.

No intent to insult you, but if you're asking this question, your kids probably know more about computers than you do. That means they will be able to get around Net Nanny or any other kind of home-based internet blocker you install. Probably in a matter of minutes. And you wouldn't even know when they'd succeeded, except by accident.
Your best bet would be to purchase a key-logger program, which records everywhere they go, everything they do, every message/e-mail they send/receive, etc. These programs are invisible to your kids, but let you monitor everything they do on your computer. Then you can know what they're up to, confront them when they break the rules, and they'll never know how you got your info.

You could be a parent and talk with them.
Or you can do something that will cause tension and mistrust and trust me, they will find a way around it.
Some people volunteer to go to prisons to help, others sit in them and fight amongst themselves, still others simply escape.
Choice is allways an option.

Net Nanny, i hear it works great for parents, but if you have a kid who is knowledgable in Proxy's and other stuff, they can bypass it.
