How do you think he would react to alot of the changes that have went on since his time.

For example, he came up with the theory that went something like "Men grow up hating their father and are in love with their mother, so they try to be like their father."

Plus, he came up with all the stages, for example oral, anal, ect. ect.

Well, how do you think he would explain homosexuals, and ect.

AND PLEASE SPARE THE IGNORANCE...
this is not a debate about whether homosexuality is wrong, it is about how do you think Freud would explain it?

he'd probably fabricate an experiment and then say that homosexuality stems from a person's desire to have sex with themselves. that is, if he could even get a grant to do an experiment after being almost totally discredited. even if, nobody would listen anyway, because it's widely known in psychological circles that he never actually helped a single one of his patients, they all suffered from the same stuff even after years of therapy with siggy

Well first off, Freud was a big thinker and he didnt have much opposition to his theories...not I say theories, theories are not facts. Some of the stuff he thought about is utter rubbish in my opinion, so if Freud were alive today, he would have heaps of opposition, and probably his "opinions" wouldnt even be considered. His ideas, while some are pretty common-sensical, a lot were just plain crazy in my opinion. Freud is over-rated.....hating your father and loving your mother...what crap. We now live in a society that has a lot of intelligent people in it. Their theories are far better than the theries Freud put forward. He was only listened to because there was no-one else at the time who could come up with "reasonings" why people thought and acted in a particular way. Intelligence has come a long way since then. You may call me ignorant only because you are stuck in a Freudian mindset. I like to keep an open mind about everything....and you know some of Freud's theories could have been mine...he just got in before me.

Freud had a theory about homosexuals. He thought that throughout the stages of development, children identify with the opposite sex parent. Hence, his cooky ideas about the Oedipus and Electra complex where the child has sexual feeling towards the opposite sex parent and harbours hostility towards the same sex parent.

He thought that homosexuals had sexual feelings towards the same sex parent and had feelings of hostility towards the opposite sex parent. This identification throughout childhood and adolescence predicted homosexuality.

He would tell Carl Jung that last night was the best time he had in his life and endorse homosexuality as mainstream normal.

He'd be snorting coke and screwing his niece, just like he did when he was alive then. (This is not a joke; research him).
