It is quite common for pregnant women to see a decrease in their baby's movement when they are that far along/Basically, the baby does not have enough room to move around anymore..You should still feel it every so often. If it would make you feel better call your doctor.SHe can give you a sonogram or test for the baby's heart to make you feel more at ease/

There is no room in there! the baby has very little room to move around in once you get into the final months of pregnancy. If you feel something every now and then, even just a tickle, the baby is fine, there is nothing to be worried about. It sounds like you are right on time and your body is pushing forward and ready to let you hold your little angel at last. Good luck and hang in there!!!

I just had my son 2 months ago and he was very active during my pregnancy. At 37 weeks your baby has likely run out of room so he/she are unable to make big movements like before. You should do the kick count. Count how many times in 1 hour you feel any kind of movement. Try doing this when you feel your baby is most active. If you are still worried get to the doctor quickly. It is better safe than sorry. Good luck and congrats!

It's normal for the movement to slow down. Plus, she is getting ready to be delivered and that will cause the movement to slow down as well.
When that happened with my first baby, I was so concerned that my doctor did what was called a non stress test. But, you could just take a nice sip of something cold to drink and see if she kicks then!
That's about all they did with me. They did put monitors on me and then all they did was tell me to take a drink of some really cold juice. When I did-he kicked almost immediately. But don't get worried if she doesn't-you probably will at least feel her move.

Hi there,
Don't be too worried! This is actually totally normal. At 37 weeks, baby has very little space to be moving, as she is ready to come into the world! You are exactly where you should be right now, and 37 weeks is a totally normal time to start experiencing labor pains. My son stopped his wiggling at about 30-35 weeks, and I was terrified. But, he was just too big to move comfortabley at that point.
If you are really uneasy about it, call your hospital and speak to someone on the labor floor and explain your symptoms. If you are not satisfied with what they have to say, be insistent, and remember that you know your body better then any nurse or doctor. If you feel you have to go in, follow your instincts and go. But, if you just need a little advice, I hope this helps to ease your concerns and fears. Congratulations to you and your soon to be here lil one!!

try laying on you left side and drinking some cold juice. between the cold and the sugar it usually gets the baby moving. And laying on you left side allows for maximum blood flow/ oxygen to the baby. As long as the baby is OK, (you said you went to the ER I'm assuming they checked fetal heart tones etc.) you should feel at least 10 movements in 1 hr. There is sometimes decreased movement due to the lack of room as the fetus gets bigger. But if you can't feel the baby move it's always best to let your Dr know so that they can check it out.

It is normal before you go into labour for the baby to majorly slow down. In all 3 of my pregnancies it was a sure sign that the baby was coming. Unless u feel nothing at all no shifting or little movements i would not worry. If u r really concerned call your ob.
COngrats and I hope all is well

I don't think you should worry. Once babies get ready to deliver, their activity will sure enough slow down. I seen this kind of problem all the time and the majority of the time, there is nothing wrong, just crowning of the baby. But there are some rare exceptions. Go see the doc just to make sure. Good luck and relax.

This is normal but if you are concerned you should see your doctor. If the emergency room is your doctor, then go there.
You could also buy a stethoscope to listen to the baby's heartbeat. In later pregnancy it's common for very few movements but the heart should always be beating strongly. You'll feel better if you can hear the heart.

As long as your baby is moving occasionally even if it is not as often as it used to be you can be assured that it is still alive and don't need to worry. Now that you are so close to the end of your pregnancy the baby is so big that there just is very little room for it to move around. So, it's normal for the movement to decrease dramatically at the end...especially since you baby has dropped.
