I have decided to be a Librarian and would like some experience within this field. Unfortunately there are no current vacancies in the Libraries which saddens me. Does anyone know of any Libraries that is offering a position in London?

Take a look at this website about library careers in Britain.

There are paraprofessional library jobs that don't require a degree. Sometimes getting a job in a bookstore can be satisfying to someone with your interests.
In the US, there's quite a shortage of librarians, particularly ones to work with children's services. It does require a masters degree though.

well, i studied for 4 years at the university, i am a librarian now but unfortunately i work at a bookshop! its totally ridiculous because librarianship has nothing to do with selling books but jobs at a library are rare since they need few people and the places are already taken..at least here in greece!

Afraid not. I'm having trouble myself finding a librarian position in the Chicago area. :-(

as a former librarian i observed that many people who wanted library positions when there were none, worked first as volunteers and then shortly thereafter when a position became available they usually got it.

I believe that that is a degree position and that you first have to attend college to do it.
