Dark urine could be from dehydration

Red urine usually means there is blood in the urine.

With women, sometimes you can get a bit of blood in your urine if you are menstruating (on your period) but in men it is a good indicator to go to the doctor. This could indicate something simple like a urine infection (which you would need antibiotics for) or something terrible and complex like kidney disease (which you might need a specialist for).

All of the above answers are ones you should take note of - but on a less alarmist note, if you are very badly dehydrated your urine could be so dark it appears brown and also drinking or eating large amounts of specific foods changes the colour too - beetroot as mentioned earlier, cranberry juice and so on.

Do take everyone elses advice tho and get it checked out to rule out any infection.

It could be blood in your urine in which case go to the doctor straight away, however if you have eaten or drunk something highly coloured ( like beetroot ) that can also colour your urine. If it is the latter it will clear when you have had plenty of water.
Infections often cause pain, have you any pain ??.

Are you taking vitamins? Taking any meds? Certain seizure meds can turn urine bright orange and AzoStandard, an OTC urinary tract infection medication can turn urine redddish. See a Doctor you could have an UTI showing no symptoms other than color change. Any frequency or burning? Abdominal pain? Do not ignore this! Good Luck!

Sounds like a urine / bladder infection which must be treated with antibiotics before it spreads to your kidneys and causes even more problems. Go to the drs tomorrow.

It usually means that you have blood in your urine from a bladder or kidney infection - you should see a doctor as soon as possible.

Kidney stone? Or maybe some kind of infection. I wouldn't wait too long to see the doctor though if I were you cause its not meant to be that colour

Is it literally brown and red or is it just dark, dark, yellow? If it is brown and red, then you do need to seek medical attention, may be something going on with your kidneys. Does it hurt when you use the bathroom? If it's just dark, dark yellow, then I think you're iron might be low. Are you pregnant?

It means you should get to the doctors and it might be an idea to take a urine sample with you, it'll save time and you won't have to try and produce one on demand!!!!
