Or does it make any difference at all how we die, when what's truly important is how we live? Please consider the question purely from the perspective of the dying person and NOT his/her family, friends or even enemies. ... Can a freak accident diminish your readiness to embrace your meaningful exist plan / philosophy, if any?

The quick answer is the freak accident because it can be said that the deceased didn't suffer but if one was able to ask after the fact the answer may change for the sheer fact that the person did not have time to prepare for death. To be able to leave their business taken care of in terms of having time to say goodbye and share their love with family and friends. This reminds us to live each day like it was our last. One is left to wonder who is better off.

I think it would be better to die after a while. I mean it might hurt a bit, or even a lot more but it would give you time to make amends with anyone that you wronged in the past. It might also give you a chance to start to understand things better. Even if you are going to die I think it is importiant to try and come to some conclusion with some things. It may just help you but I think that's enough.

If one dies in a freak accident the death will be short but the death would have "no meaning". With a long sick bed one fades away in acceptance with death. This makes the dying process mean a lot in the negative sence.
So I would say its the living that is important.

I think it is very similar except that when you die from a terminal illness you suffer for longer, but you get an opportunity to say goodbye to the world. I would prefer a sudden death, i feel no need to say good bye.

only a doctor can answer that in terms of how much pain is in each method. i would guess terminal disease but i could be wrong and also there are lots of variable such as for how long does the person has to suffer, what disease is it, what kind of accident? etc ... and so on.

I would just want a moment or 2 w/ my kids and hubby to let them know how much I love them and that I'll be waiting for them
**I do, I just love them sooo much, I couldn't live w/out them, but my husband would probly say he could live w/out me sometimes. we talk alot during the day and each time we get off the phone we say I love you. I would just need that 1 more time to make sure they will be okay...you know it's a mommy thing!

Death has the same meaning regardless . . . you are gone. As to quick or slow, I opt for quick. None of the terminally ill persons I have dealt with wanted the slow torture. It is the neurotic American government and nimrod churches that force them to live the nightmare slow death. ( one of many reasons I have no respect for either )
