I'm currently in the process of going to the fire academy and I'm all fired up.(Pun intended) Just want to know what thew day to day experience is like.

All I know is 3 days on & 3 days off, sound to me like you live with a bunch of firefighters & put out fires when needed then go home on your third day

Its like having another family. Its pride, enthusiasm, joy and fear. Its being part of the community and helping others. I have been a member of our department for 10 years and have loved every moment. It is an experience that I would encourage anyone in becoming involved in. Enjoy your training.
