I like the American Pride idea better. So many girls go as hippie's, it's not original or even cute anymore.
How about something like this, it's different, and it's not a long dress that will get in your way.

You should go with American pride. Where some cute dark blue shorts (like soffees) and maybe a long sleeved shirt. Make your look something like a cheerleader. Where make up that makes you look fresh and fix your hair really cute. Fabulous!
