Because it makes you feel like a bird perched high above the world. Birds have good vision and the ability to fly high and land on tall objects. So we have to approximate it with buildings and binoculars. It's just a way of escaping the ordinary, I guess.

Because looking through binoculars at things on the ground from ground level wouldn't give you the same effect, totally crazy, but we have all done it.

In the same vein why do the police shoot someone a lot [68] of times and then do CPR on them? It happened here yesterday. The only reason I can think of is they can see a greater distance.

people dont look at things on the ground they look to see the view and how far they can see
