its the number of years you've been on this earth collecting experiences, learning and growing both physically and mentally, although some do it much quicker than others and there is a possibility of someone in their golden years beying more ignorant than a teenager, especially because they grew up at a time when racism was very alive and also did not have the technology we sometimes take for granted to have information at the tip of our fingers and in no time at all. example: yahoo answers.
its not just a number, but it does not say much more than how much time we've had and what our physical condition should be,
our views and life can change with the experienced but who we are will never change.

Well, it depends. I always use the old thing:

half your age +7 = the youngest a person that you can be involved with.

eg.

If you're 28:

half of 28 = 14 +7 = 21, so don't date anyone younger than 21.

It seems to work well for your age anything 14 or older.

Age is just a number, someone could mature faster than someone else(not just physically but mentally). Or think about this, what if a year was only say 200 days, every one would be older. Everything really is just numbers.

No, I don't think age is just a number. I'd have a serious problem with growing up if I thought I didn't get anything in return for it. I better get something more than just a number for getting older.

Depends on what aspect you are talking about.

In terms of physical health and capabilities, obviously age is not just a number, as is proven by the hundreds of age-related illnesses and ailments.

in terms of maturity, intelligence and such, it means practically nothing to anyone except a statistician. My own experience playing MMORPGs is enough to show me that a seven year old can be more mature and intelligent than an adult, and a seventy year old can be just as cool as your best friend.

I believe the old saying that you are only as old as you feel. Age is just a number, it is up to you if that is a good thing or a bad thing.

Age is a state of mind. If a person feels young or old then that's the way they'll act regardless of chronological age.
