My family are Disneyland fanatics! I go at least once every 1-2 years. A lot has changed since the time you were 7. In example, there are no more Country Bears and a Winnie the Pooh kiddie ride has replaced it. What used to be the old submarine ride is now the Finding Nemo theme and they have also added a Buzz Lightyear ride in Tomorrowland. Rides that have stayed the same would be Indiana Jones, the Jungle Cruise, the Tiki Room, the Haunted Mansion (with the exception of going on it during holidays like Christmas and Halloween), Big Thunder Mountain, and all of the rides inside of Toon Town such as the Roger Rabbit ride. Rides that have changed would include Space Mountain, It's a Small World, the Matterhorn, Autopia, The House of Innovation, and the Pirates of the Carribean. All in all, all of the Disney magic is still there, but they have either changed or replaced a few things for the enjoyment of their guests. You will have a blast. However, to improve your Disney experience, I would recommend you get a few fast passes for rides such as Indiana Jones, Space Mountain, and the Pirates of the Carribean. Enjoy your trip at the Happiest Place on Earth and I hope I have helped. :)

Maybe twenty miles - Disney Land is in or near Anaheim, and Hollywood is closer to the coast/Beverly Hills.

Disneyland is in Anaheim and the walk of stars is in Hollywood. What with traffic and all, it will take you an hour or hour and a half to go from one to the other.
