Ronaldinho is the greatest football player on earth. He is no doubt the greatest midfielder on earth now. The reason I say now is because in his prime Zidane and Ronaldinho would have really close competition to be the greatest footballer on the planet. Since Zidane has retired though, there is no person who even comes close to Ronaldinho.
They both possess great skill with the ball. They both get their teammates involved. They both are deadly scorers. Ronaldinho would win however due to the nature of his pace and the smile on his face. He is always smiling and laughing...basically making the game look easy. Zidane is the best footballer in the last 25 or so years. Ronaldinho will be the best footballer to play in this generation.

Between Zizou and Ronaldinho I would have to go with Zidane. The guy made Ronaldinho look silly at this past WC which was at the end of his career. Obviously if Zidane is better than Ronaldinho after his prime than he was far better that him while he was in his prime. The question also asked about Maradona however. I am not sure of who would have been better between the two because they played at different times. I am going to go with toss up on this one.
