My African Grey Parrot's name is Mr. Bojangles. hehe. The original song was written and recorded by Jerry Jeff Walker in 1968. It was also recorded by Bob Dyland and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. There are versions also by Robbie Williams,John Denver and Sammy Davis JR. as well as several others.
