Global warming is happening now.

Whether due to mankind or natural forces or some combination of the two it is already changing the landscape and the ecological niches available to wildlife.

There are too many studies to recount here, but as the world warms even a few degrees, animals will be stressed to survive as their habitats change and weather patterns change.

The polar icecaps will melt, giving opportunity for some species, and killing others. Humans will fortunately be able to mitigate some of the problem with advances in genetic technologies as we will be able to save some species, and possibly even "bring back" extinct ones.

if you live anywhere north of the continental US or in any alpine climate you know there is no debate on this issue.

Average temperatures have only gone up 1 degree in the last 100 years. That's not exactly a massive catastrophe to worry about. If global warming reshapes our world, it'll be at a slow rate and we, along with other creatures, will adapt.

We've been ignoring what scientists have been saying for decades, and when we think about what we have to do to slow it down, we try, as individuals, but if it's not convienient...we tend to ignore it, such as using public transportation instead of our cars. Also, large corporations tend to pay the EPA fines because it is cheaper than upgrading their facilities...so until that changes, their polution is going to continue to degrade our air quality and contribute to global warming. How soon will it effect us? We are seeing the effects NOW, and they will only get worse with time. It may be too late to do anything about it now.

Global warming is part of the natural chycles the eart goes through. Not convient for us sure, but for the earth it's normal. We are so arrogant to think the little bit of time that we've been watvhing the earth and weather reflect the way it's always been and should always be.
