What is the average value/weight of loose change (US$)?

What do you mean? Like, the average amount in somebody's pocket? Or the average amount somebody has in a jar? Or how much is in circulation?

Check the US Treasury Dept. site--they should know about how much change is circulating, and how much is being saved (and therefore out of circulation until somebody rolls it up and takes it to the bank.)
