For a group paper, we were to conduct a survey and then write a paper about our findings. I need to put the survey in the bibliography, but how would I cite a survey that i conducted myself (along w/ my group)

A survey is essentially a type of personal interview, so you can cite it in a similar manner. If the survey had a name, you can provide that as well.

Last name, First name. "Name of survey." Survey. DD Month YYYY.

As an example:

Smith, John. "Hot Lunch Options." Survey. 6 June 2001.

If the survey or poll was conducted online, provide the URL and date of access as well, as you would any other online citation.

the appropriate statistic would be determined by the type of data obtained from the survey....

surveys are NOT mathematically valid without statistical analysisl; make sure that the survey incorporates numerical values so that you can assess the answers..

for instance... if you are asking for a preference, as in, "which do you like/prefer/agree with/favor....have a sliding scale for the answers...as in..."on a scale from 1 to 10 [with 1 being the lowest] how would you rate the following....."

if you are comparing/contrasting groups...as in "how do boys and girls differ " ...."how do 10th graders differ from 12th graders..."
or any other "groupings"...then you need to find the existing differences if any so you can compare them

if you are comparing a sample against the "norm", you need the appropriate stat

for every different type of survey, there is an appropriate stat...
your math teacher should be able to help with the actual statistical analysis...
you would then cite the stat as an explanation/justification for the conclusions that you derived from your survey
