Why do bodybuilders' skin become darker?

Ever noticed that their skin pigmentation become darker?

They deliberately tan their skin with special lotions or UV light to accentuate their muscles more.

Their skin don't become darker they just tan themselves to see the lines and definition in their body.

They put self tanning lotion on to show definition in the muscles.
