As a woman, I feel I can be just friends with men. I have absolutely no difficulty with it. But I am learning that men don't seem able to be friends with a woman.
What do you think?

Men that cannot be friends with a woman lack in maturity. Immature men think that all women were put on this earth for sexual purposes. Mature men enjoy having woman as friends. They appreciate the female point of view and can look in her eyes when they talk to them instead of staring at their breasts.

I think men and women can be friends, I have lots of male friends. But our friendship isn't the same as my friendship with other females. It's not better or worse--just different. There is always a sexual tension. Even if the two people don't find each other remotely attractive--there is an underlying current of tension. I totally agree with Harry (in the movie, When Harry Met Sally) when he say, "What I'm saying is - and this is not a come-on in any way, shape or form - is that men and women can't be friends because the sex part always gets in the way." one of the two friends is thinking of the other in a sexual term...I've had small crushes on nearly all of my guy friends--the ones I haven't, I know they have had crushes on me in the past. So yes, I truly believe women and men can be friends--and good friends at that. But it's a different type of friendship (though just as valuable) as friendship between two people of the same gender.

I am a young woman and the truth is, there will always be that weird tension that they're the opposite sex but yes men and women can just be friends... I've done it before. We just have to learn to get past that awkward phase that people can't seem to get over.

I think men and women can be friends. I have more friends that are guys than I do girls and I have a boyfriend but if some men think that you can't be just friends then they must be stupid!!

Yes, that can be true at times but my best fren happens to b a man. we talk, laugh, drink, and even sleep together without him touching me or asking for sex. There r those out there, but its like one in a million.

agree 100%, and not to sound like total Bi--h, but its cause they want more-i.e. sex
i have zero male friends anywhere near my age or dating qualities. lots of suitors tho-but i know what u mean, would be cool. Its also why gay guys are so great-they get it like you and I do.

well i am slowly learning "no" cuz all the guys i am friends with i have fallen for . and my heart has been broken more than once. so NO.
