I have been fighting a battle for about 2 weeks where I will get a sore throat, feel achy and tired but then the next day feel not too bad. A day or so later it is back and it is like a battle with my immune system. I can't keep waking up and wondering if today I am going to feel awful or not. How can I naturally knock this out and hopefully keep it out of my body this season? I want to prevent my family from getting it too so any immune boosting advice is welcome.

You should be eating a good healthy diet that provides a good amount of vitamins. When you start feeling cold like symptoms, take extra zinc and echinecea. This will usually help right away. Drink plenty of fluids, meaning good amounts of water and juice. If you have a sore or scratchy throat gargle with warm salt water. 1 Cup to 1 teaspoon salt. As long as you are not running a fever you should not have to worry about infection. Check out this site on healthy nutrition and much more.

First, go see a doctor. If it's been two weeks, it's too late for prevention, and two weeks is way too long for comfort. You may have something serious. Either that or you've been pushing yourself too hard to allow a full recovery.

Second, some tips:
-- If you feel symptoms coming on, take Eccinecea. Though there is no benefit once you actually get sick, it is clinically shown to reduce your chances of getting sick. It also wouldn't hurt to do some of what you do when you actually get sick, as explained below.

When you do get sick:
-- drink lots and lots of water. Fruit juices are good too.
-- rest. Don't go to work, just stay home, lay on the couch, and watch TV. The next day, if you feel slightly questionable, stay home and rest again. The day after you'll probably be in the clear.
-- avoid extreme temperature changes, like going outside on a winter day.
-- eat healthy, avoid junk or "comfort" food. Vitamin supplements couldn't hurt either. Definitely no alcohol.
-- within all those constraints, try to enjoy yourself as much as possible. Watch a movie you like, for example. Your state of mind does impact your recovery time.

For a sore throat gargle with warm salt water& drink hot tea with honey. To build your immune system if your a guy the best vitamins are Mega Men @ GNC & for woman Mega Women at GNC.It is very important you take one in the mornig and one at night .Take with food this tricks your body into thinking your actually eating healthy. It would be nice if we could really just eat healthy but this is impossible considering all our fruit & vegetables are full of pestisides & bacteria. It will take at least a month to get your immune system to full strength.

Sounds like a throat infection. Next time you feel it coming on, taking a really hot bath. While you're still hot, put on pajamas, wrap your next in a scarf, jump into bed, cover yourself with plenty of blankets and turn on the heat. Go to sleep but make yourself "sweat it out" during the night. I swear this works.

When your body gets an infection, your body's natural response is a fever. You get a fever because fevers usually kill bacteria. Sometimes there is too much bacteria and a fever is not enough, so it comes back. But if you raise your body temperature, especially in the throat area where the bacteria is living, you can kill it. They can't stand high temperatures. This works for me all the time - it works better when you catch it early.

Stay in bed for a couple of days of solid rest. Stop pushing yourself. Take aspirin and lots of vitamin C tablets or Orange juice. For a sore throat, gargle with some warm salt water. If it gets worse, or doesn't stop after 7 days.. go see a doctor. It could be mono .. or something else. Good Luck! :)

In addition to what tysavage2001 said, I would add the advice that DEHYDRATION is always a factor in these cases. Drink lots of water/fruit juice (not too sugary) and avoid coffee, tea, soft drinks, and caffeine (even in foods). Most people in the world (especially the U.S., who consume too much of the above) go around day-to-day in a condition of dehydration, which leads to fatigue and suseptability to colds and other sicknesses. I have proven this to be true (in my own life) for over 20 years, practicing what I'm preaching! (IOW, I never get seriously sick for any amount of time)
I probably average close to a gallon a day of intake>the minimum formula is one-half your body weight (in ounces) per day.

echinecia/goldenseal supplements, but don't take it for more than 2 weeks because it will start to bring your immune system down after that.. and for when you aren't sick, alfalfa supplements will help your body prevent getting sick.. it's also good to drink tea and things like garlic are said to have some benefit.
