would you rather see lightning or hear thunder? if i were to say lightning it would be because it has no sound but it can do damage and if i were to pick thunder i would hate it cause of where i live by a woods and it would echo so..... boo ya! so i would pick neither so, wut would u pick? :)

I like both. The only time you should worry is when you hear the thunder and see the lightning at the same time - that means that the storm is right overhead and the lightning strike is very close by.
For every 5 seconds between the flash and the sound the lightning is about 1 mile away - so give me both... with about 10 seconds between them!

Last real good "thunderstorm" we had, I was alone, so I flipped the couch over, next to a low table, covered it with comforters and hid underneath until my husband came home. I don't know why, but the thunder just brings me to the ground literally and the lightening - well I was feeling like dodging it inside the house.
The silliest thing of all, is that I live in sunny California, so many of you know our "thunderstorms" are NOTHING compared to what I've seen and heard on TV.
The other funny thing I didn't realize, was that my husband pointed out that this couch is a double reclining couch, and made of mostly steel.
Can you say "Duhh?" lol. So now I need to find a new hiding place, probably under the bed (all wooden), but it sure makes a person sore to have to lay or sit all day in one position like that. Especially all tensed up, I came out from the couch like a frozen popsicle!

where i live, there is not usually one without the other so I lucked out. Before I moved to the desert I had NEVER seen thunderstorms like I have now. The lightning is AMAZING and the thunder is absolutely BOOMING. If i had to choose? definitely the lightning because it lights up the sky

I love the thunder it is mother natures big foot stomping it's Awesome. lighting I could do without, to many things have been struck by lightning and killed thunder is only the warning

hhmm i live in the country and the thunder does not echo...i dont care too much for lightning..my daughter and dog are scared of the thunder and usually have both of them sleeping in the bed with my husband and i when it storms!!
