Is this a popular name? Nerdy? Silly? Do you know anyone with this name? I just wondered how it was thought of there, since I am in the US.

Gosh, he is adorable. I looked them up on Wiki, had never heard of them before.

It's really too late anyway, since my 3 yr old son is named Declan! People have never heard of his name where I live. It's really rare that someone knows the name. People think I am saying Jacklyn or spell it DECKLAND. Weird.

He is a crazy little redhead though. As soon as he was born I saw that Declan suited him.

Declan is considered (as far as I'm aware) to be a perfectly normal name in Ireland, and is quite a popular name. It certainly wouldn't be considered silly! I know a couple of little girls called Niamh over here in the UK, which some people consider very unusual but in Ireland it's one of the most common names. Similarly an ex pat Irish person wouldn't bat an eyelid at the name Declan, and would probably quite approve. Go for it!

Hi there.

Yes Declan is quite a popular name here in Ireland. Declan is a saints name of which the origin I am not too sure. It is also quite a popular name among nuns who take on the name. My mother was taught by a Sr. Declan many years ago. It is not as popular as it was years ago as most saints name but you do get the odd person in Ireland named Declan of the younger generation.

i recognize you're British, Martian (that is all too obtrusive) and to be basic i do no longer think of we could continuously have black history month right here. In usa of america definite, yet as conventional Britain could replica the U. S. with in spite of it does. we've not got an analogous history right here so that is no longer precise to recommend something that doesn't extremely practice. interior the united kingdom we've extremely basically had black human beings right here because of the fact the 1960's and asian human beings (as they're referred to as on right here) basically particularly those days. we've not got the different history extremely, different than white history. i'm taking history for GSCE (a foul decision i recognize yet I wasn't going to do nutrition tech) and we learn British history (hint: because of the fact we are in Britain) which comprise the slave commerce and all that. And if i became into in Italy or China or everywhere i could assume to benefit their history Why can no longer usa of america teach all american history and not gloss over on particular aspects? Then there could be no want for a large form of those months and probably shall we be at peace and consume some cheesecake. King of londoN: you purchased particularly heated there. Whoo
