I can put slides on DVD, but I can't put music on a CD. Why would one work and not the other?

I was using Windows Media Player to burn my CD's and Windows Movie Maker to burn my DVD's. I did recently remove some DVD burning software though.

Well thanks to some lovely copyprotection software that some companies are using, it's been known to mess with CD Burning software.

You could try re-installing your burning software to see if that clears it up.

Also do the normal AntiVirus / Spyware / Trojen Checks.

The burner uses different lasers to burn on DVDs than on CDs. Most likely the laser for CDs is broken. It is possible that it is a software problem, but this would be my guess.

Hi. The DVD and CD formats are different and the software you use may not support both. If you use a commercial product (such as Nero) everything SHOULD work.
