Since WWE owns WCW now, there will never be a true recreation of WCW. They would simply use the name to put WWE over, just as they're doing with ECW.
As for the "same old WWE" problem, WCW was not only good as an option, but to drive WWE to make a better product. What WWE really needs is strong competition. Just think... in 1998, there were two wrestling promotions opposing each other on Monday Night, and both of them were simultaneously drawing better ratings than RAW can currently draw.
If you liked WCW, you should probably be watching TNA. With guys like Jeff Jarrett, Sting, Scott Steiner, Raven, Konnan, Vince Russo booking, and occasional appearances by Buff Bagwell and Lex Luger, TNA can have a definite WCW aftertaste. Of course, they have other famous names, such as Rhino, Christian, Team 3D (the former Dudleys), BG and Kip James (formerly Road Dogg and Billy Gunn, the New Age Outlaws) and the recently signed and soon to debut Kurt Angle. Furthermore, they have a crop of talented younger guys including AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Senshi, Samoa Joe, and Ron Killings to name a few.
They've got a way to go before they can be huge competition, but at least it is an alternative. Check out iMPACT Thursday nights on Spike.

Have you heard of TNA (Total Non Stop Wrestling)? Well, it's what is left over of the old WCW that Mr. McMahon didn't want. If you go to theire website, www.tnawrestling.com, they have a lot of old fan favorites. For example, they have Keving Nash, Sting, Shane Douglas, Raven, Rhino, Christian, Scott Steiner, Jeff Jarrett, (and they just got Kurt Angle also!)among others. I think that it comes on Spike Tv. I'm not too sure though, cause I live in Germany. On the other hand, I wouldn't want WCW rising from the ashes again, unless they have better PPVs.

Ah! The Ol' WCW... it was fun while it lasted, but it needs to stay in the past. WWE now is a big snooze fest with the exceptions of Jeff & Matt Hardy, Orton, Carlito, Super Crazy, Edge, and yes... dare I say it? Cena... He has a certain entertainment value... ya' all can't deny it. Ya watch just to see him get his a** kicked.

Lets recap last night... though I was mainly watching Heroes, I did read the recaps and saw a bit of the DX antics and Jeff's win. Congrats to Jeff by the way... (yeah... it's scripted... ya-da, ya-da, ya-da....)

Good things: Orton and Carlito match... wish it went longer and the new Spirit Squad uniforms. I loved them!
Bad Things: Lingere match?...uh do I really need to go there...DX dominating the show and making me change the channel... their timing was off, the deliver sucked.... I didn't snicker once. Cage match? Where was the blood? It was stupid!

I snoozed... I dozed... I was reading my book with it in the back ground. It stunk.

I've never been a WWF\WWE fan, think it is a bad product. I really miss the WCW\NWO. I also miss the AWA, NWA, Texas Championship Wrestling. I don't watch any WWE, and will not in the future.

Other than that, everything is fine!

yes!! in the attitude era there was competition therefore it was constantly new and interesting and exciting. Now there is nothing, i know TNA people will disagree, but it isnt a factor at all. Least not in 2006. Maybe soon, but not yet. I hope TNA goes opposite Raw in the time slot and it gets alot better
