What was the card for??? Friendship? Then explain why your friendship is special and important. Is it for a loss? Then explain your understanding and offer your support through a trying time. Is for a birthday? Then wish them many, many more! I need a little more information here to help you out. Is it a Christmas card and are they married with children? Then say hoping you and yours enjoy the holidays and have a wonderful and safe time. It's not hard to write from your heart. And if you don't know what to write chances are you are giving a card under false pretenses. ie.... your brown nosing instead of being sincere! Look at yourself in the mirror... are you confident in what your doing? Then go forward with your plan of giving a card. A personal message will make it special and different from everyone else.

You don't say what the card is for, but a brief, sincere handwritten message would be nice. It doesn't have to be witty or impressive, in fact, simplest may be best. "I hope this year brings you a lot of happiness and success." "I'm so sorry for your loss." "Congratulations - you deserve it!" Whatever seems appropriate for the event. Good luck!

I think it is inappropriate to give your boss a card, unless it is from the whole crew or office.
It should be signed by all the workers.

Just say "thank you for everything! I love my job here" and sign it. Doesn't have to be long and men don't usually like to read that much anyway, so don't worry about it so much!

you could say something nice but make it short and sweet since the card already says it all or just sign it.

I think just a signature would be fine.
