also when I pinpoint the location, the sounds stops. How do I get rid of them? Are they a serious problem, (not sure if they go away on their own or in colder weather)? Who do I call to get rid of them? I can't determine how they got in, the home is newly built, brick accents and paneling.
Please help if you have experience, because this is quite frightening!

Warranty is exceeded (1 year, I should have clarified that). Not sure if bees or wasps, I've seen wasps outside a few times though. Single floor home, and it's almost like between the walls. I doubt it's wiring because I heard it in one room the other day, and now it's entirely in another room. I can take an extended broom handle, tap the ceiling and it stops. I leave room, wait, and it starts back up??? Thanks all for comments, I'm scared to go in the crawlspace; besides the insulation, I don't want to encounter, there must be hundreds to be that loud...

If you can pinpoint the bee meeting area you can try to spray bee killer yourself or to randomly spray it places you might think they are but you will need to find where they are getting in to seal it. I would call a pro pest control to avoid the risk of angry bees.

We had this happen to us a few years ago and my hubby is VERY handy and found the spot the little buggers were getting in and sealed it. He sprayed for several consecutive days and killed the bees.

Here is something else to think of that was also a problem for us that took over a week to remedy. When you kill them they are dead. When they are dead they decompose. A mass of dead bees REALLY stinks! We ended up taking all the fake ceiling down in our basement and sucking up bee bodies with a shop vac more than once. YUCK!

Be prepared for this to take a week or so to get taken care of and good luck and be safe (no pun intended). Okay a pun WAS intended but I meant the be safe anyway.

Possibly bees, more likely to be wasps. They may become dormant in colder weather but then re-emerge when it gets warmer. If the property is new-build is it still under warranty? If so get the chaps in, if not, local environmental health will remove any nests. From experience, some local authorities charge, some don't. Is the ceiling part of a loft space or between upstairs and downstairs?

Your bes tbet is to call a termite company to be sure or look outsid eth ehouse(especially early in the morning, and try to locate where they are geting in and close it'

It sounds like they have an interence to a wall. Most bees willonly nest in somehting that is standing up so they can build their honey there.
Call your builder and tell him you want it inspected as you are afraid it's an electrical problem. and it could be a lose wire buzing.
At any rate he si responsible for making sure bees cannot get into the walls of a new house.

I would look in the yellow pages and find a company near you that specializes in bee/ bug removal. They can usually come out and give you a free estimate on what it is and what something like this would cost if in fact it is bees. If you have a landlord usually they will reimburse you, but I would find out first. One other thing that could be a possibility, the noise you are hearing could be something in an electrical line that is loose and is following along your ceiling. Just check first with an exterminator and see what they say. Good luck!

you can call a local apiary or local honey seller if they really are bees.. if they are wasps then you need to get a pest control guy out..

Better get checked by a specialist. I don't want to alarm you but it is best you do. It can be as simple as your blood pressure going up or as something more complex.

you definitely need to call an expert...i wouldn't recommend trying to remove them on your own...when you do eventually find them...
