Transmission from a 91 into a 96?

We have a 1996 Polaris Trailboss 250 that needs a new transmission.

We found a transmission from a 1991 Polaris Trailboss 250, but it is pricey, and we don't want to spend the money unless we are sure it will fit.

Does anyone know if they are compatible?

best bert is to get the part number and cross reference through a dealer, they will know for sure. safest bet for your money.
