I think it's a good thing they realize they are part of the problem. Hiv isn't just a"gay" disease, but there would be less of a spread of it, if all groups that do have it really put an effort into not spreading it any further. Aids is a disease that can be stopped, and people do know how to stop it. Why it is taking so long, I don't know.

No, that's nonsense. AIDS is transfered by people who do certain things. Those things may be more common among gay men (actually, even that site says that it's most common among anyone who's a part of a group that is traditionally oppressed--people who are logically more likely to turn to drugs or start sleeping around with everyone--stereotypes *cause* the disproportionate numbers!), but it's those behaviors that should be combatted, not a certain group of people that should be targetted.
I'm a gay man. Supposedly I'm at "high risk". I'm actually at *zero* risk. That site also says that everyone should be tested starting at age 13... I'm 19, and I've had zero oportunities to be exposed to AIDS. That there's even a possibility of a need to start at 13 is a problem, for *everyone*.

Aids is a disease that targets individuals involved in "risky" sexual behavior. These behaviors often result in the transfer of bodily fluids to areas of the body which are open to infection or transfer of the disease. Unfortunately, homosexual men do practice what are considered risky behaviors and they, therefore, have a higher risk of contracting the disease than those who do not practice the same behaviors.
One reason aids is so widespread in Africa is that culturally they practice very risky behaviors. That is why education and the use of barriers (rubbers) is so important in those countries.

No it's not a gay disease, however, the first cases were among the homosexual population and they have had the most losses due to it. I would think that they themselves would get together and find ways to modify behaviors to limit the spread instead of going out of their way to show that they dont care because "it's not a gay disease".

You do not have to be gay to get aids. It is an unfortunate disease because it can happen to anyone at any age. It does not discriminate and it is an equally opportunity sickness. The gay community is at a higher risk but that doesn't make it a gay disease.

How do you clarify the unfold of HIV with the aid of needle using drug addicts, the overpowering majority who're heterosexual? jointly as the 1st circumstances of HIV in the early 80's have been often gay and bisexual adult males, that may no longer the case now. HIV as we communicate is straight away transforming into between heterosexuals in Asian and African countries do to the lack of awareness of their government to confess to the subject and handle it. in the late 80's the father of a particular chum died very straight away of AIDS, after contracting HIV from a girl prostitute. scientific care replaced into not on time because of the fact on the time no person believed that heterosexual adult males could get it this way. lack of awareness is in charge for the enhance of this ailment, and a central authority who spends greater time pandering to the pharmacology and coverage companies. who's it that has grow to be wealthy off the back of the unwell and the dying? could that be why no scientific care has been discovered? the main important transforming into HIV+ inhabitants in the U. S. is black women people. somebody convince me that the present administration provides a rats *** approximately black women people different than the place they may be used and exploited like Condi Rice.

Yea, that's good that the center is trying to get people to be more conscience of what they do and with whom. Please keep in mind, AIDS was/is often passed on through dirty needles used in injectable drugs, like heroin. This is how hep C was passed alot.
