Is this fair? I mean is this just life? Why or why not? What needs to be changed?

What percent of the people do all the work? That doesn't necessarily mean that the people that ARE doing the work are paid accordingly, like, teachers for instance, or CEO's, but what are those 80% of the people doing? Untill the global economy really is global, it will be hard to justify spreading that 80% around otherwise. I agree that the suffering in the third world is to a large extent ignored by the wealthy, and that is a huge part of the problem, but it needs to be economically viable, or everyone will suffer. There is plenty to go around for everyone, we just need to make it happen. The world isn't fair, but if you're interested in making a difference there are plenty of things you can do. Devote your life to making a difference, if you haven't already. Don't just look at the problems, look for solutions too.

Pareto on the curve of distributon of goods, said that there is always a 20 % that make troubles to the rest of 80%. Amongst them (80), there is another 20% striving to make things go right. If the remander of 60% are lured over the trouble makers, then a
80% fights the champions. If 60% lean over champions, then a 80% fights the trouble makers!

Ownership of lots of material possessions is not necessarily good. Material wealth with emotional/spiritual starvation in many cases. The happiest people are definitely not the wealthiest, or the ones who enjoy the longest lives. The only thing that needs to be changed is to ensure that everyone is fed and has shelter and water. Yes, its life-not realy a question of fair or not. When we are born, we have no automatic right to anything. If we have freedom, that is the greatest asset of all apart from good health.

Who said life was fair? Since the dawn of time it has always been survival of the fittest. To try to alter the scheme of life and create a universal fairness would not only be unnatural but probably the end of creativity, inventiveness, drive, and the shear force that drives us as human beings. But in all fairness to the other 80%, we have evolved a consciousness that now obligates us to help provide a respectful and decent life to those not as fortunate us.

That's life. Don't get too hung up on that, just worry about your own little corner of the world. People will always be crazy rich and totally destitute. It's a fact influenced by geography, education, government, economy, personal ambition, talents, etc.

it isn't fair. The disparity of the richer getting richer and the poorer getting poorer is caused (somewhat) by the very nature of bigger businesses. Profiting on a large scale is poisonous to smaller businesses.

A short history of consumer tradition:

We started with bartering:
10 chickens = 1 cow

We moved onto currency:
$1000 = 1 cow

Its time to move on to the next generation of consumerism:

???? = 1 cow

What needs to be changed are the social and political arrangements that justify the continuing and never stopping concentration of wealth in fewer and fewer hands. As the concentration of wealth increases there should increase a corresponding tax in order to encourage such wealth to be reverted to the majority of the people (the wealthy ones included).
