The most important present day world leader is George W. Bush. Not because I or you agree with his politics but simply because when he speaks, the world listens. I think of a leader as someone who envokes action in others, good or bad, and W meets that criteria quite well. Of course, there are others but none whose effect is as tangible as George Bush's. I think that goes for most American presidents. They've earned the title "leader of the free world" for a reason.

Kofi Annan is the Secretary General of the United Nations. He has a better claim than Bush to leading the world.
