How sick do you get from taking the flu shot? how long will you be sick for... what are some of the symptoms.. runny nose cough ect...
are there long term effects from the shot too?

flu vaccines are made from the protien particles of dead viruses. The shot cannot make you sick, unless you are allergic to one of the components used in making the vaccine, like eggs for instance. If you develop symptoms of illness right after you get the shot, it is because you were already infected before you got it.

Usually after the flu shot you experience mild symptoms of cold or flu - but never to the extent if you to pass on the shot. The shot is actually putting the mild virus into your body to give your body the chance to build up it's immunity.

My daughter is a teen ager but she has a very small build. She has asthma and has taken flu shots since she was about 4 and she never gets sick from them. Her arm is usually sore.

well it all depends on your inmune system, sometimes people don't get sick at all
