First, relax, this is a subject that you know better than anyone else. Try and pick a particular day when you realy experianced emotions, this is to help the mind start creating more vivid memories. Now as the thoughts enter your mind, just rough write the details, do not worry about spelling mistakes or anything like that, do that later, first get the details written. Now start putting the day together, was it hot, cold, bright or dull? You have the start of your essay and this can use up to 50 words, just describing how you felt on waking, on this particular day plus the weather and you have another 50 words, all without leaving the house memory wise. What aboput the details in your bedroom that you woke up in? Describe the decor and lighting, this is all good descriptive foundation for the type of essay that you are writing.

Well, it's your life! Some of the replies gave some very good suggestions.

You didn't say how old you are. So, the essay would depend upon the events in your life. Did you have braces on your teeth? If so, what was that like? Did you get them off? Describe how you felt when they finally came off!

Did you break a leg or arm doing something foolish? How did it happen? What was it like at the hospital?

Were you in a school play? What role did you play? Did you wear a costume? Did you have a speaking role, or were you part of the chorus? How long did you practice? What was that like?

These are just some ideas. Remember, you know what happened in your life!

Good luck. Get started!

Unless you live in a bubble that should be easy. Pick something like your first day at school, first date, saddest day, happiest day or you could use something historical that happened such as 9/11 or the day that Princess Diana died. The shock wave of both events hit everybody and was on every ones lips for years to come. The meaning would be why it happened, how it happened, and the effect would be what it did for you, the people involved and the people around you or people closest to you.

Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Write about your 40th birthday!
Remember that since it is (probably) in the future, you can write about loads of things that are not yet invented; for example a mobile phone with an AMAZING PC, Internet access, TV, satnav, MP3 and film player, 1,000 gig of memory, voice activated ... whatever you want really. How rich are you? how is law and order maintained? how are your kids being taught? what job do you do? what do you do in your spare time? who is in the premier league? where do you go on holiday? if you have a car, what is it? (NOT petrol, that is certain).

You've got 40 in your question, so 10 times that is not much really.

Try for detail, what did you wear (describe), eat, what did it taste like....
